Previously on...

So last week I did work on the PMD comic and Ahruium.

I worked on Ahruium from Monday and Saturday. The draft is almost finished. I only have to put one final chitchat between the characters, the final battle, and the falling action (the short part where we see the results of everything the characters did)

What about now

This week is filled with tests I will have at the university, so instead of doing art I will be focusing my attention on being a wise lakesprit and reading papers, writing the important things down and then attending the tests so I can get good grades.

New Week Resolutions (Mar 27-Apr 2)

-Doing that art trade once for all

-Studying for each thing coming this week at the university

Oooh! I almost forgot, my birthday is coming (Apr 23)

In a month my birthday will come and I need to ask my parents what I want (I know it sounds silly), but I am like Mariah Carey, I don't want a lot for my birthday just like she doesn't want a lot for Christmas. I already got a lot of things.

I like games, platformer games, long games. Custom things themed after my characters. Chocolate.

So last week I listened to new music on almost each day except monday, because I was doing university stuff on that day.

But, yeah, I got a bunch of music on the playlist, I can even... let you see it :3

And I did work on the PMD comic with Emronia in it, and page 15 is up

I think I gotta beat the fear and finally post the comic here on Newgrounds, even if it's page by page. I hope Fulp allows it.

New Week Resolutions or habits (March 20-26)

So, I did almost all of my new week resolutions except working on the comic.

I do now have a place where I can put my lore... a website. It'll be like some sort of wiki of some sorts. Not really a wiki, since I would be the only one putting stuff in it. More like an encyclopedia. (duh)

That means that last week I learned how to use HTML and CSS. I must be a fast learner ^//^

Here's how the website looks so far, taking its baby steps.

New Week Resolutions (March 13-19)

Here's what I plan to do this week, aside from my academic duties (doing great at the uni, by the way):

-Listening to 1 song every day

-Writing Ahruium on each day

-Working on the PMD comic on each day

-Doing an art trade with someone (in progress)

-Finishing a new personal pic (the pic is done and will be posted in some hours)

So. I am back to you, I didn't make a weekly journal last week, because it was like some kind of "week break" to relax before the first week of university.

How's university?

Now I am back to university, doing my sophomore year of my Psychology Major. I am a lakesprit studying psychology of course. The professors sent me a lot of things to read, and that will keep me busy. But, it's fine, I can make text to speech read it aloud while I do other things. My strategy is to listen to the thing in text2speech and then write down the most important things on onenote.

Gaemz

Remember the Magolor pic? I started playing the new Kirby game. Some weeks ago I played some of Amazing Mirror too, it's not like the other Kirby games, it's more like a metroidvania, but, without the "get powerups to access new areas" thing.

Lore

Another subtle hint is that the Emronia story and the Ahru story happen in the same multiverse. Ahru happened to be... the arceus that sent Emronia to the PMD world.

The multiverse is like... dedicated to fan content like comics and fanfiction, so I might end up calling it the KFC (Kespuzzuo Fanwork Corpus) and will make like a timeline of the lore and even a wiki.

New Week Resolutions (March 6-12)

Here's what I plan to do this week, aside from my academic duties:

-Listening to 1 new song at least

-Writing Ahruium

-Working on a way to organize lore

-Working on the PMD comic

-Working on a secret pic (secret because you don't know what it is about)

For the half (and a bit more) of this week, I'll be going on a trip outside my city to relax and be amused.

Regarding last week's resolutions, I did indeed reach 5 hours on my January playlist. Here it is!

Meanwhile, regarding Ahruium

The climax is taking so long! Before starting that chapter, I was planning the book to be 50k words long, but, now it's 64k words long because I'm adding everything I need for the climax. I am just at the part where the characters are about to face the "final boss", last week I was at the part where they arrived at the place where the "final boss" lives.

I intended to finish the draft last week, but, since I'm putting everything on it including the kitchen sink, it seems that it will instead be finished in this week instead.

I was intending to have the whole polished book in February 24, but, if that deadline catches up, I will instead make a trailer for it.

"Let us now acknowledge that a delayed poem is eventually good, while a rushed poem often falls short in comparison with the delayed poem" - me, pretending to emulate Aristotle.

Previously, on 2023...

Well, I still have this novel/poem/story writing mania, and Ahruium is now past 50k words as I estimated it would be. But, now I have to finish it, and I have to finish it well.

Though, I do hope I can polish and edit it enough to have it as good as I want to. Cue the quote from Ernest Hemingway regarding the first draft of anything.

I also did way too good at the university, that, in fact, I got an almost perfect score. Now I won't have to worry about university for a whole month.

But with all that success I did not do the commission I talked about the previous two weeks. And the art drought is becoming visible.

Oh, yeah, I also listened to music, the playlist will be on the next journal.

This Week's resolutions:

-Finishing the Ahruium draft

-Finishing that one commission

-Listening to 10 more new tracks

Perhaps this time I will focus on the commission, in fact, it's being sketched, and now I have less distractions.

Welp, I didn't manage to do everything I planned for the second week.

Let's see...

-4000 words for Ahruium: I did that! ^w^ In fact, by now I have 45k words written... the draft is almost finished.

-Doing well at the university: I did do that, I am a wise lakesprit~

-The commission I had to do: I haven't started it yet (booo)

-Listening to 5 new singles or music tracks: Haven't done it and instead listened to a B-52 album (it was pretty good, actually)

I think it was obvious that early on there were going to be mistakes in this "New Week Resolutions" system, but, I am heading towards perfection! Ironing out all the mistakes!

So, for this week (Jan 16 to Jan 22) I have set up tiers for the resolutions:

Common:

-Writing 2000 more words on Ahruium

-Doing well at the university

-Listening to 10 new tracks or singles

-Doing that one commission

Rare:

-Sketch of year of the bnuuy pic

-Writing 4000 more words on Ahruium

Epic:

-Finishing the year of the rabbit pic

-Writing 6000 more words on Ahruium or finishing it

-Finishing a third pic this week

Start Spreading the News

The year is (almost) over! Thank you 2022.

In retrospective, I think it was pretty great for me.

I even dare to say it dethrones 2016 (for me) because of the many stuff that happened.

Heh, some people sit there and throw dirt on the year like it's getting out of fashion, I bet they put ketchup on their hotdogs.

For me, a year can become good with your own will. You have complete freedom to condemn the year as much as you want, but, remember, you can make a change.

My Achievements

So, I started 2022 with a new original character, a pink "unknown animal" boy called Yvrann, then a shark boy called Uahamo. Back then in 2016 I could hardly come up with characters, let alone original ones. I did have Yvrann in some pics, but, I only have one pic of Uahamo, and I think it would be fun to make another pic of him.

I started my major in Psychology. On the first semester I did great at all the courses, and later on the second semester I took an extra course along with the ones I meant to take. I also did great there. I think this is a thing meant for me.

So much that I got a lakesprit sona, a being of the psyche! I feel like I have found my vocation and the path that I should take in my life: one of being a psychologist like Jung drawing art and writing things, and also having a lakesprit as a sona.

Later I started the PMD: Starscape Weaver comic, which has another lakesprit character... Emronia the mesprit, being the protagonist in the comic. That comic also led to the creation of many other poke OCs like Debvye the Maractus, my Mismagius, and my Meloetta. I hope that one day I manage to have like a hundred of those.

Then October was the peak of the year, la creme de la creme. That was when I did Emrotober where I did a pic each day, with colors, and with me attending university too. I was even doing comic pages, which are much harder than single images or what people were doing at Inktober. Perhaps, what made me do so good at it was the sense of urgency, or that I was doing many things at the same time, or timing what I was doing. Perhaps even pretty good time scheduling. Perhaps luck even.

On November I returned to Newgrounds and really settled in. You can guess why.

At the end of November and all through December I've been writing the epic poem that I plan to release on late February, I also did some commissions, but, the time management was now turning into a competition between the final exams, the commissions, and the poem. I did great at the finals, the poem is doing ok at like 33k words for now (it must reach 50k words and then be edited and polished), and I did get some commissions done. I hope my clients have been patient, some have been waiting for weeks as I did other things.

December is also the month of hanging out with family to celebrate the Holidays, so, I spent some time with my family too.

I think at the end of the year I did more pics than the previous year.

Outside of art and things I create I listened to a lot of music, with new singles and albums.

I did make a playlist for each month with each new song I had listened to:

I do listen to new music albums like ones that indie music enthusiasts and exotic music enjoyers mention, because they form the memories of a year. I did remember 2016 so well because of the music I listened on that year. So, I tried the same thing this year.

New Year New Me

That is one of the mantras that many people say at the end of the year. And many joke that they end up being the same old "old year Johnny". I think I tend to make a change, but that usually happens in the middle of the year. Obviously, in 2022 I was a New Me early on because I started the Psych major. But, in the middle of the year I became a lakesprit and a lot of other pokepeeps got really interested in me.

This 2023, I think part of the New Me will be that I will obviously be someone who wrote a 50k poem. In 2023 I will also end up organizing the lore regarding my art, especially the fan content I do. So, 2023 will be like the year of Lore and Writing!

2023 will be my year

That is the other mantra. "New Year New Me" is Coke, and "2023 will be my year" is Pepsi, they are the behemoths of the funny claims people make at the end of the year.

For me, 2022 was my year... because I did so great in it.

But, as for 2023, I dare to challenge myself to do even better, so that way I can also say it will be my year.

I think saying "my year" sounds slightly selfish. We share the same year like the roads the cars go through, so, in a sense it could be "our year"

I'm not seeing enough movement! - New Year Resolutions and New Week Resolutions

Okay, enough goofing around, let me put my New Year Resolutions for 2023:

-Posting the 50k Epic Poem in late February (there is a very good reason why I picked that time)

-Posting a sequel to that Poem later in the year, it will be shorter, and an epilogue to the previous poem

-Making three animations at least (I think I could make them about the poem)

-Making at least three music tracks (Could be either about the PMD comic or the poem)

-Making at least 20 more pages of the PMD comic

-Revealing Emronia's old friend (as a lakesprit!)

-Making some sort of encyclopedia or database for my lore to organize it.

I know what the poem is about, but I can't tell you because of spoilers. But, since I'm kinda getting tired of not mentioning, I think I could start dropping hints to build up the hype

New Year Resolutions have such a long deadline, how about New Week Resolutions?

I plan to have resolutions for week that start on Mondays and end on Sundays.

This first week will be a bit unusual, I will start it on the first and end it on the eighth.

So, the resolutions for the following week are:

-Finishing my part of Washy's art trade

-Writing 5000 more words on the poem

Alright okay... I'm gonna give the poem a name.

The name of the poem is... Ahruium

So, right now, we have crossed into the second last week of 2022.

Which means Chrimmus is just a week away (can you believe it?)

And 2023 is two weeks away, of course.

So in response to the previous journal, I'll say some things.

The progress of the 40-day resolutions

Right now I have been able to do a bit of those resolutions, but not as much as I expected.

It's okay, I think I'd have to approach what I did with a growth mindset (I did progress!) instead of a fail or win mindset (thinking that I failed the challenge)

I did 2 of the 3 commissions I promised to do, and the third one might come soon.

The Minecraft thingies had some progress.

And the Secret Santa thingie is also on its way.

As for the PMD comic, I did do two new pages, which means I'm at 14 pages for now, and since NG put a comic category, I might upload them here.

Now that I mentioned my progress, I might want to talk about my pace.

I wasn't as fast as I expected, but there are two great reasons behind that...

Uuuahh... mah mummah made it!!!

My mummah went onto surgery to let the food go from the stomach to the intestines (I think) and now she's feeling so tired, only having jelly and chicken soups for dinner, and almost falling shreepy after 15 minutes of walking.

So, to help her, I had to do the chores she usually does.

She will get better soon, she might go back to full health in around two weeks.

Secret Project for 2023

If I put it here is it not a secret anymore?

Okay, I've been writing an epic poem that will be around 50k words long.

It might be the greatest expansion to Kespuzzuo lore in that moment.

It all started with notes and ideas laying around on OneNote, which I planned to use for art, but then I ended up having too many of them, so I came up with the solution of turning it into a book.

Right now the draft has 26k words, and I plan to finish it between the end of December and early January.

After that I'll edit the poem like a novelist until the release date.

The release date will be at the end of February.

What about the other 40-day resolutions?

I planned to reach 20 pages on the PMD comic, but, I might not do it because of what I mentioned before.

But, I might do that and reveal Emronia's friend in January.

The music? I think I could make music themed after the epic poem, like making character themes and music about the places that appear in the poem.

And the animation? That could also be about the poem, like adapting one pretty good scene to a video.

Since allegedly there are like 40 days left of this year, I'm gonna set these goals before finishing the year.

Let's end this year with a bang!

-Reaching 20 comic pages of my PMD comic (which I haven't posted here, but I might start doing it)

-Revealing Emronia(the mesprit girl I draw a lot)'s old friend

-Participating on the NG Secret Santa event (already got in)

-Making one music track and posting it on this site and Youtube
